Akim of the region Gali Iskaliyev met with athletes who defended the honor of the country at the Asian Championship in Sports and Combat Sambo among men and women held in early June this year in Tashkent.
Traditionally, in parallel with the adult athletes, representatives of the youth and junior national teams of the continent competed.
The head of the region stressed the worthy performance of the athletes of the West Kazakhstan SAMBO school at the international competition.
Our athletes won 1 gold, 2 silver and 3 bronze medals.
Temirlan Kolbay took the first place in the weight category over 98 kg, Kazbek Supygaliyev and Nurbol Serikov won silver medals in the weight category of 64 kg and 71 kg, respectively. Adilbek Seisov-up to 64 kg, Riza Suleimenova in the category of 72 kg and Zamir Khamzin in the weight of 98 kg became bronze medalists of the championship.
As it was noted during the meeting, the level of competition has increased. Medal fights became much more persistent and took place in an uncompromising struggle. Also, the participants of the meeting said that they missed the big competitions.
At the end of the meeting, Gali Iskaliyev wished the athletes good health and further great success.
