Bakhyt Sultanov discussed with the regions the regulation of prices for food products

March 12, 2021, under the chairmanship of the Minister of Trade and Integration of the Republic of Bakhyt Sultanov, a conference call was held to clarify the mechanisms and progress of the implementation of the Roadmap for Stabilizing prices for socially important Goods.Representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Agency for the Protection and Development of Competition of the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as local executive bodies took part.

The issue of preventing the growth of prices for socially important goods is under the constant control of the Head of State and the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

"Since the beginning of the year, prices have increased by a record 2.8% over the past five years. Moreover, the issue of setting marginal prices is a necessary measure, since the situation has gone beyond the limits. The mark-up occurs "cumulatively" in connection with which there is an increase in prices for a number of products, when both the manufacturer and the intermediary and the final link want to earn more, " said the Minister of Trade and Integration of the Republic of Kazakhstan Bakhyt Sultanov.

In turn, the local executive bodies voiced questions on reducing the time frame for the adoption of regulatory legal acts, as well as topical issues on the control of price stabilization.

Bakhyt Sultanov noted that local executive bodies need to work out the entire chain with producers of goods in a timely and balanced manner to stabilize prices, while setting the maximum price should not create conditions for the product to disappear from the shelf.

The head of the department explained that the comprehensive plan provides for the necessary organizational measures and analysis of pricing at all levels together with the antimonopoly and fiscal authorities, and also gave recommendations for their implementation.

"Local executive bodies have lost time, now there are hours left to decide on the cost, launch the coordination mechanism and work to stabilize prices for food products," the minister concluded.

The Ministry of Trade and integration , together with the Ministry of Agriculture and the Agency for the Protection and Development of Competition, has developed a Roadmap for price stabilization, Minister of Trade and Integration Bakhyt Sultanov said at a government meeting on March 11, 2021. In this regard, the Ministry of Trade and a number of CGAs are forced to use administrative levers to offset all the consequences. For this purpose, it is necessary to exercise control on the part of the state.
